Tops KNIVES Yacare Machete - YAC-01

Inspiration from jungle experiences has led to the creation of unique designs by TOPS Knives. The Brakimo and Tanimboca Puukko are examples of knives that have been influenced by time spent in the jungle. The latest addition to this series is the Yacare, designed by TOPS’ GM Craig Powell. Powell was inspired by machetes he saw in Costa Rica, which had a similar style to barong-styled machetes but with a unique flair. These machetes stood out to him because they were different from the typical Central American machete. After attending the Bushcraft Global trip in 2015, Powell knew he wanted to design a machete.

The Yacare is crafted from 3/16” 1095 steel with TOPS’ new Acid Rain finish. It features sturdy black canvas Micarta handles that are well-contoured. This machete is designed to be a reliable tool for medium to heavy-duty use, with its all-belly blade capable of cutting through vines, thicket, and wood. The wide blade, high grind, and balanced weight make the Yacare a tool that is perfect for camping trips or adventures like Joe Flowers’ Bushcraft Global Adventure in Colombia.

This fixed blade drop point machete knife is made from 1095 RC 56-58 steel with a 10.25" blade length and 15.50" overall length. The Black Canvas Micarta handle provides a comfortable grip, while the slim and durable Black Ballistic Nylon sheath with Belt Loop ensures easy carry. Whether for tactical purposes, hunting, or survival situations, the Yacare is a versatile and essential tool to have on hand.
